When one thinks of a European tour, camping is definitely not the first manner of seeing this amazing continent that springs to mind. And yet to go camping in Europe is fast becoming a fun way for tourists and locals to enjoy the beauty of this rich and diverse continent.

The European continent is well kitted out to provide one with the ultimate camping holiday. There are a wide variety of camp sites in Europe that offer something for everyone. There are the more expensive camp sites which offer the camper a bit more luxury.

There are some that are slightly higher end which afford one some luxuries and then for those that are really on a tight budget there are ones that just offer the basics. These are perhaps ideal for students and those looking for a sense of adventure.

There is a new trend in that many people want to camp in Europe because they are keen to  experience eco-tourism. This is a type of travel that more and more agents are providing  specialised services in and they look to find packages that feature the best natural  experiences in Europe. Travel agents offer the real nature lover a chance to trek through Europe by putting together a package that consists of the tourist hiking through certain parts of Europe over several days or weeks and stopping at night to camp or to stay in a modest bed and breakfast.

These packages are fast becoming a cheaper way of seeing Europe as they allow the tourist to explore at a much cheaper rate than an organised tour package which includes hotel stays and transport. Some people are even opting for camp sites as alternative accommodation while they are cycling through Europe as it allows them to experience the natural splendour of each region.

There are a number of popular camp sites such as Ilha da Berlenga which is situated in Portugal. This camp site is situated on a hill overlooking a secret cove and the Spanish camp site of El Burro Blanco is also incredible. It is surrounded by nine acres of forest and you are bound to feel as if you have escaped to another time. Another popular spot is Les Romarins in France which boasts a spot in the hills between Monaco and Nice. You can stroll through the olive trees and along the small roads and when your thirst takes over, enjoy a meal at one of the sidewalk cafés for which France is renowned.

So there is an incredible amount to choose from when considering the idea of going to camp in Europe. You will find that there is a great sense of adventure and you can choose your level of comfort as well as the type of experience that you would like to have in terms of the surrounding country side.
