Large Camping Tent
I really love to go camping in the mountains a few times a year with my family, just like my father did with me when I was a young kid. I find though, that my kids are growing a little more fearful of nature after the recent reports on the news about bear or wolf attacks. They no longer felt safe sleeping in sleeping bags out in the open, so I bought the whole family a large camping tent. Here are some things that I had to keep in mind when I was buying our large camping tent:
Size – A large camping tent should hold 4-9 people comfortably. Not just regular people, either, but adults. Large camping tents should be only taken to a park or area where there is enough room to set it up. A jagged mountain side is neither flat nor big enough to safely hold the tent up.
Strength – If you are taking an excursion through Alaska then you will need a different large camping tent than a trip to the Mojave Desert. The trip to Alaska should come with a very thick and durable tent that is strong enough to withstand the elements. A tent that you take to a desert should be strong as well, but if you enjoy breathing, then the tent cannot be of thick fabric, instead something that is a breathable fabric. You don’t want to share a tent with six other sweaty panting people. The smell could become overwhelming.
Cost – Some tents can cost a few hundred dollars to a couple thousand depending on the size, quality, strength and manufacturer of the tent. Some of the higher priced tents can be bought on credit and paid off in installments if you cannot afford to pay it off immediately.
So as you can see, a large camping tent can be a wonderful purchase for you and your family. If you have ever feared the wildlife or the unknown then a large camping tent is exactly what you need. They are large but practical for anyone who wants to see the outdoors in the daytime but wants to hide from it at night.
